Paradise Beach Club and Globe present BLASTERJAXX & MOTI
Super Dutch duo BLASTERJAXX and mega producer MOTI will be performing at Paradise Beach Club, Mykonos on Monday, July 13, 2015.
Thom Jongkind and Idir Makhlaf, jointly known as the renowned producer/DJ duo BLASTERJAXX, are anything but the same. While one is often prominent and vocal, the other prefers to take a background role. Despite the fairly high contrast in characters, the two are bound and united by their passion for and love of music. Their signature, cross-over sound of progressive/big room electro-house has proven to contain the recipe for success. Their first step in international recognition came in the shape of Laidback Luke who eagerly signed the “Reborn EP” and “Where We Go” to Mixmash Records. Their big breakthrough however comes in 2013 when Tiesto picks up their song “Loud and Proud” and releases it on his label. Tiesto’s approval and support served as a pivotal point in their career. It led to the opportunity to do an official remix for Tiesto’s world renowned trance hit “Adagio for Strings”, and later a collaboration with him on a remix for Ultra Music Festival’s “United” anthem. Their single “Faith” charted in the Netherlands and Sweden that same year. To top off 2013, Hardwell released an edit of their original “Fifteen” on his label. From there it was a quick succession of collaborations, remixes and releases with the likes of Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Hardwell, David Guetta and Tiesto that further continued the duo’s meteoric rise as well as subsequent multiple number one Beatport hits with tracks such as “Fifteen”, “Mystica” and “Save My Night (Blasterjaxx Remix)”, “Rockit, “Legends Come To Life”, “You Found Me”.
The social media numbers and peer recognition can’t be ignored, but the impact they have left on their fans is equally as powerful. Their dedication to and appreciation from fans is what keeps the duo inspired and motivated. At a time when music producers and DJs are a dime a dozen, Blasterjaxx recognize and understand the importance to stand out. They succeed in constantly evolving their music, whilst keeping true to their unique sound. They know how to take what is relevant and throw their own spin on it. Their shows largely consist of music they themselves created, edited or remixed.
With each release and show, Thom and Idir are showing the world what they are all about. They have garnered support from the biggest names in dance music including Tiesto, Hardwell, Avicii, Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki and David Guetta. Their music has been released on the most respected labels (i.e. Dim Mak, Mixmash Records, Musical Freedom, Revealed Recordings and Spinnin’ Records. Not only have BLASTERJAXX establish themselves as a chart topping, record selling, social media mammoth to be reckoned with, but they also set dance floors around the world ablaze with their energetic performances. Their success was solidified with their astonishing ascent in the DJ Mag Top 100 chart in 2014, landing at the #13 position. One thing is for sure, while staying grounded and grateful to their loyalfans, the only way for Blasterjaxx to go is up!
Alongside them, upstart Dutch artist MOTI, who has wasted no time in ascending the peak of the current progressive house paradigm. The enigmatic DJ/producer first emerged on the scene in 2012 by releasing two high-profile collaborations, “Circuits” and “Kinky Denise,” with fellow Dutch DJ/producer Quintino. After Tiësto added “Circuits” to his Dance RED Save Lives compilation in 2012, MOTi reached out and offered to send some more tracks his way. The Dutch megastar liked what he heard, and it wasn’t long before the two found themselves collaborating on a track that would eventually become the 2013 smash single “Back to the Acid.” “Back to Acid” marked the crown jewel of MOTi’s superlative 2013 campaign, which also featured three chart‐climbing singles and a collaboration with Alvaro. MOTi’s chugging Spinnin’ debut “Krack” was followed by the festival‐oriented “Heat it Up,” and “Dynamite,” his tremendous third outing with Quintino, which peaked at #10 on the Beatport Top 100. MOTi’s stylistic versatility and savvy for donning divergent genres also found him shape shifting at times to explore new sounds, including trying his hand at a booming trap‐inspired remix for the Stafford Brothers and Lil’ Wayne on “Cash Money”. That remix occupied the #1 spot on Beatport’s Hip Hop chart for more than two months in validation of the artist’s freewheeling production approach. He has capped off his whirlwind year by signing with Tiësto’s Red Light Management and playing for more than 15,000 people alongside Tiësto and Calvin Harris at an Amsterdam Dance Event Heineken showcase. While MOTi is acutely aware of how fast he’s come so far, with plenty of new productions waiting in the wings and marquee performances set at main stages from Ultra Music Festival to Creamfields, expect to hear even more noise from MOTi.
