A stage production about the life of British singer Amy Winehouse and her uncomfortable relationship with celebrity will premiere in Copenhagen early next year.
The play was written by a team of 11 people, under the synonym “Det roede rum” who wrote a script pieced together through concerts and interviewsThe play will center on Winehouse’s rise to fame, and subsequent fall to drugs and short-tempered relationships. Produced by the Danish Royal Theatre, “Amy” will open January 2013.A statement from the company regarding the sensationalist play stated that “Amy” will show “the enormous pressure a sensationalist public put on a young superstar when her problems began.
